Hi, I’m Angela. Welcome to Muddy Boots & Coffee.
This is the story of me and my golden retrievers. We are travelling the UK, in pursuit of a dream, going wherever the dog shows take us – and sharing the journey with you.

At 39, my life looked good on paper. A year later, I left that life behind and rebuilt it from scratch. And since that day I’ve made it my goal to make the most out of life, and help others do the same.
Somewhere in the rubble, dogs came into my world and through them I discovered dog sports. That swiftly became my obsession and my favourite form of adventure: the special bond, life on the road, the competitions, and the personal discovery – going wherever the journey takes us, and enjoying the ride.

I started Muddy Boots & Coffee one winter, when there were no dog shows, and decided that I needed something positive to channel my energy into. Here, I’m sharing everything I love about living with dogs, competitive obedience, travel, and the dog-friendly stays I recommend. You’ll find random musings about my competition journey – but not just the wins, the rosettes or the polished rounds you expect to see online. I’ll try hard to be real, sharing the disappointing days, the days you question yourself, and the days you have to use all your inner strength to get out of bed and train the dog.
Navigating real life can be messy. But I’ve come to realise that if you just take one step at a time, no matter how small, and follow your heart, really cool things can happen.
My mission is simple: To make the most of each day and help others do the same.

And if you haven’t yet dipped your toe into the world of competitive obedience, you should try it. Jump in the water’s lovely.
Join the ride.
Much love Angela x
If you’re new to my page it’s more than just dog training and competing. I’m on a mission to show that ordinary people can do really cool and profound things. See more about my story plus read about the life-changing turning point, which started it all.
